About
On whoistrackingyou.com, we analyze cookie and redirect tracking through the lens of interactive visualization based on an automatic crawl of 900 websites.
Where does the data come from?
We generated the data with the aid of the web privacy measurement framework OpenWPM.
What about other web tracking mechanisms? Why did we focus on an analysis of cookies rather than more new or less-researched mechanisms?
There exists a plethora of research on (web) tracking and privacy. Tracking with cookies has been done for over a decade and is well-known and researched. Nevertheless, cookies are still heavily used and helpful in identifying potential web tracking activities. Therefore, cookies offer us a simple way to measure the prevalence of web tracking.
